If you thought Fernando Alonso’s relationship with ex-teammate Lewis Hamilton was tumultuous, then spare a thought for his girlfriend Raquel del Rosario. The pair met at a Spanish radio station a few years back, and were rumoured to have cemented their love with marriage in 2006. This, however, was never confirmed and they have spent time apart on a few occasions since. At present, however, the stroppy Renault man and his bossy lady are firmly an item, living in low tax bliss in Geneva.

When she’s not dealing with Fernando’s tantrums, Raquel fronts Spanish pop-rockers El Sueño de Morfeo, or ‘The Dream of Morpheus’. Unfortunately, their songs aren’t dedicated to Laurence Fishburne’s character in The Matrix, but their Celtic tinged hits have been a huge success in her home country. Last month, she had a ‘dream come true’ by being selected to sing on the Spanish version of a naff straight-to-DVD prequal of The Little Mermaid.
