Shortly after today’s incredibly important match with Gamba Osaka, Sir Alex was given his first chance to respond to the rumours that Cristiano Ronaldo will be off to Spain in the summer. The fiery Scot, who lists horse racing and slagging off Ramon Calderon among his hobbies, seemed to be a little angry about the alleged “gentleman’s agreement”:
“Would I get into a contract with that mob? Absolutely no chance,” he said.
“I wouldn’t sell them a virus - that’s a no. There’s no agreement whatsoever between the clubs.
“We just have to ignore it because if we keep worrying about what Real Madrid say then we’re
not concentrating on our programme of difficult games we’ve got coming up, so I’ve got to ignore
it.
It’s been clear for a long time that Fergie is not a fan of Los Blancos, but will this be enough to keep the Portuguese man-o’-sex away from the Bernabéu?
